Leadership Message

Dear Alumni Members,

The Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine is pleased to greet you with news of a new alumni program. We are excited to reconnect with all of the physicians and students who have trained in our health system’s programs and help you to maintain a connection with your peers and colleagues.

For many of you, it is very likely that since you’ve completed your training, the face of the institution has greatly changed. Sixteen hospitals (5 tertiary, 7 community hospitals, 3 specialty care hospitals and 1 affiliate) along with the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, The Elmezzi Graduate School and the School of Medicine are now aligned to create a very comprehensive and dynamic system. Each hospital and program contributes a rich history and cultural uniqueness which serves to fortify the system overall and amplifies our impact on patient care, research and education. We are providing premier patient care to a population of over seven million people on Long Island, in Queens, New York City and Staten Island. Our teaching hospitals offer training in over 120 clinical specialties to over 1500 residents and fellows. The Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine welcomed its third class to the Hofstra University Campus in August 2013. This class, like the two before it, is a superb group of bright, talented, and humanistic individuals. These 80 students represent a small fraction of a total pool of over 5500 applicants to the school, with only 700 granted interviews.

With pride, we welcome all of our past graduates back into our ever growing family. We look forward to keeping you informed of the many resources available to you as alumni members.

Please take a moment to browse our website and to update your personal profile. We encourage your participation and feedback. Should you have any questions about the Alumni Affairs program or about the continuous developments taking place within the system, please contact us at alumniaffairs@nshs.edu.

We look forward to ongoing contact with you as we continue to build our network of alumni and friends.
