Dear colleague, Observed annually on Nov. 11, Veterans Day is an opportunity to honor our nation’s military veterans and recognize those serving in all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. Veterans Day commemorates the anniversary of the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front in World War I, which occurred on this date 106 years ago. On Veterans Day, we celebrate all members of the U.S. Armed Forces — past and present — distinguishing it from Memorial Day, on which we honor those who died in service to our country. Northwell’s commitment to supporting military veterans is demonstrated by our vast array of healthcare services and career resources for veterans and their families. Our Military Liaison Services department continues to reimagine how veterans can thrive when they return home from duty, and roll out programs to improve the lives of veterans and their families. Please visit our website to learn more about these offerings, and invite veterans you may know to take advantage of our services. In recognition of the outstanding work we do to recruit, retain and advance veterans, military employees and their spouses, and support veteran-owned businesses, I’m proud to announce Northwell’s extraordinary 2025 “Military Friendly” national rankings: - Overall: 2nd
- Military Friendly employer: 4th
- Military Spouse Friendly employer: 7th
